Writing Tips

We encourage everyone to write their own letters about the issues of importance to your community. Personalizing these letters is what will make a difference. Share your story with your Members of Congress. Force them to understand what your community goes through, your concerns, and what legislation you want to see implemented. We want to amplify your stories and your experiences to create real change.

  • Utilize your personal stories, feelings, and ideas -- humanize gun violence prevention.

  • Call out your Members of Congress on their voting record and force them to take notice!

  • Reference specific legislation or policy you want to see implemented. Not sure? Check out these resources

  • Make sure to include your zip code! Staff use this to verify that you are a constituent.

  • Reference your Member of Congress by name. Not sure who represents you?
